There are many upsides and downsides to the current recession. The restricted cash flow in the country has caused many to think harder about large expenses before committing themselves either personally or as a business. The cost of running a vehicle or fleet has always been a massive factor in the day to day expenses of anyone or business. Now more so perhaps – those of us that own outright our van or company transport do not have the luxury of built in servicing that can come with lease, contract hire and hire purchase.

This means that we have to find the cash to buy a new van when the old one works no more or more often at the moment to repair it as and when necessary. For the newer vehicles it is always a good idea to fit brand new van parts that will maintain the integrity and quality of the service history. But for some, me included, the van has passed out of that stage and now is in the longer stage of being worth repairing but not necessarily worth the cost of the new van spares.

The use of second-hand parts does have its draw backs but using a reputable van breakers company to source your second hand spares will reduce the risk and the guarantees they offer will reduce it further. From my personal experience I can say that the money saved over time has been significant and as such I recommend this route to all of you that have 5 year plus old vans and a need to keep them running for as little as possible for as long as possible.
